Readers will be pleased with the logical and easily understood manner in which numerous fitness features are adapted to the Apple Watch. If you have an Apple Watch, you need this book.

Part 1, in four chapters, addresses “Apple Watch Basic Facts.” It introduces the common features, the collections and functions, operations, and running the built-in apps.

Part 2 focuses on “The Apple Watch in Health and Fitness,” in six chapters. These include the Activity App, Workout App, iPhone Health App, ResearchKit health projects, third-party health and fitness, and suggestions for improvement such as battery life, incorporating a global positioning system (GPS), blood pressure monitoring, and oxygen saturation. The pros and cons of these potential additions are briefly discussed.

An appendix discusses setting up your Apple Watch.

The readability and simplicity is greatly enhanced with numerous screen shots. Explanations are concise and action oriented. A comprehensive index makes topics even easier to locate, and buyers can also obtain an ebook version for a modest charge.

The book is action oriented for the person who just wants to get started. There is no heavy theory, simply practical advice. You will enjoy this “to the point” presentation.
