| Brad Reid is a professor of Law and Ethics in the College of Business and also the Senior Scholar of the Dean Institute for Corporate Governance and Integrity at Lipscomb University in Nashville, Tennessee. He taught at Abilene Christian University (ACU) from 1975 until 2010. He served as Chair of the ACU Department of Management Sciences from 1992 to 1995 and Chair of the Faculty Senate from 1996 to 1997. Reid has received several university awards, including the ACU College of Business teaching award in 1983, the Department of Management Sciences teaching award in 1985, the Dean's Award for Scholarship in 1992 and 1994, and the Dean's Award for Scholarship and Service in 1998. He has published many articles and comments over a long academic career and has presented numerous papers at academic conferences. Reid won the Best Paper Award at the Pacific Northwest Academy of Legal Studies in Business in 1999 for a paper entitled “Jurisdiction over the Internet frontier.” His commentary appears in the Huffington Post. His major research interests include intellectual property, computers and law, corporate governance and ethics, and employment law. Reid is a 1969 graduate of the University of Oklahoma and a 1973 graduate of the University of Texas Law School. He was employed by Exxon's Legal Department in 1974 and was in private practice from 1974 to 1978. Reid was founding editor of two academic journals: Southern Law Journal and Atlantic Law Journal. He has served as president of two regional academic organizations: Southern Academy of Legal Studies in Business and Mid-Atlantic Academy of Legal Studies in Business. He holds licenses to practice law in Texas and before the US Supreme Court, and is a member of the Tennessee Bar Association. |
