An extensible and adaptable model for system software
Netinant P.  Software engineering, parallel and distributed systems (Proceedings of the 7th WSEAS International Conference on Software Engineering, Parallel and Distributed Systems, Cambridge, UK, Feb 20-22, 2008)138-143.2008.Type:Proceedings
Date Reviewed: Nov 26 2008

This paper claims to “present an extensible and adaptable model in which system software is decomposed into a set of architectural abstractions.” The approach is to look at a framework that has dimensions of layers, components, and aspects. Although some interesting ideas are expressed, especially with respect to AspectBank and AspectModerator, the paper is rather weak and builds on relatively old references. The example given is not convincing in terms of the possible significance of this work.

Unfortunately, most of the paper has not been edited for English grammar and usage. This makes it quite difficult to read and makes me wonder about the reviewing process for the conference where it was presented.
