Visual programming in data flow environments (videotape)
Upson C., University Video Communications, Stanford, CA, 1992. Type: Book
Date Reviewed: Apr 1 1993

In addition to views of the lecturer, this program contains still presentation charts and images of the computer programming products and techniques being discussed. The lecturer presents an overview of visual programming and then focuses on visual programming in a dataflow environment.

While the videotape medium offers the advantage of seeing both the lecturer and the products in full-motion video, I found the lecture slow going. The information density is too low; much of the material is more suitable for text or computer-based interactive learning than for a non-interactive lecture. Further, at times when the video images of products would have been illuminating, the images on the screen are almost illegible.
