The authors of this excellent paper state that the potential impact of fusing personalized and persuasive technologies is tremendous. Yes, it is!

The paper is well structured. It starts with a preface, which introduces the challenge. It proceeds to discuss ways in which personalization can enhance persuasion and ways in which persuasion can enhance personalization. It includes many practical examples. The state of the art of current research is illustrated with three works that exemplify the application of personalization in persuasive technologies and of persuasion in personalization technologies. The authors close with a magnificent section on emerging topics for discussion.

As the authors say, the fusion of persuasion and personalization is a highly promising and appealing area for both scientific research and practical design.
