Hahn U., Reimer U.Type:Article
Date Reviewed: Aug 1 1985

The authors describe their algorithm for automatic abstracting and indexing, which forms the basis of the TOPIC system under development at the University of Konstanz. A detailed example from a computer text fragment is presented with adequate detail to show how the system works in practice. The method is a good example of an expert system. It will be interesting to see how effective it is when tested on a large body of data.
