As is typical for a textbook, this book has small dense type, the information is dryly presented, and there are questions and exercises at the end of each chapter. None of these things detract from the subject of programming in Pascal (either the Apple or the Symantec version) using a Macintosh computer. The book comes with a floppy disk containing all the examples in the book, which should be standard with books of this type. Nothing is worse than having to type all those programs, although I have learned a lot from my typing mistakes. It is well designed for the classroom and perhaps as a reference book. I prefer a lighter approach when I am learning on my own outside of a formal setting. It would do well as the textbook for an introductory class in a community college or university.
