High-accuracy arithmetic software--some tests of the ACRITH problem-solving routines
Jansen P., Weidner P. ACM Transactions on Mathematical Software12 (1):62-70,1986.Type:Article
Date Reviewed: Dec 1 1986

The authors have carried out fairly extensive testing of the ACRITH problem-solving package which has been developed by IBM. They have tested the package and its performance on several classes of problems (with the exception of linear programming) and found both weak and strong points, as reported in the paper. Their presentation is clear and easy to follow. Several illustrative numerical examples are given. The paper should be useful to anyone interested in computational mathematics.
