An integrated frame/rule architecture
Engelman C., Stanton W.  Artificial and human intelligence (, Lyon, France,1461984.Type:Proceedings
Date Reviewed: Aug 1 1985

The paper describes the KNOBS system, which is a knowledge-based system for technical air mission planning developed at MITRE Corporation. The main point of interest in the system is that it is one of the few efforts in which both frame- and rule-based representations of knowledge are used in a cooperative manner. The paper makes a case for the use of this mixed knowledge representation strategy and the integrated inference architecture.
