This paper describes the application of digital simulation in the validation of algorithms used in automatic guidance and control system of an advanced supe rsonic fighter. In this simulation, and AD 10 computer was used to simulate the aircraft dynamics and the navigation instrumentation system.
The paper is divided into three parts. In the first part, an introduction is provided on the principles of a guidance and control system of a supersonic guid ance and control system; this approach is titled "Off-Line Optimization." The t hird part discusses a different approach for the simulation, namely, "On-Line Op timization."
While the paper may be of value to practitioners of aerospace navigation and con trol systems, it offers limited information to people interested in simulation t echniques and applications. The simulation techniques used in this study are bri efly addressed in the report, but, unfortunately, the paper does not provide suf ficient detail on the design and implementation of the simulation. It is hoped that the authors published a subsequent paper which will provide more insight in to the simulation aspects of this study.
