Dr. Harry Skianis is currently a Research Associate with the Institute of Informatics and Telecommunications at the National Centre for Scientific Research "Demokritos" in Greece and a visiting Lecturer in the Department of Information and Communication Systems at the University of the Aegean in Samos, Greece. He holds a PhD degree in Computer Science from the University of Bradford, United Kingdom and a BSc in Physics from the University of Patras, Greece.

He has been actively working in the area of computer and communication systems performance modeling and evaluation, where he has introduced alternative methodologies for the approximate analysis of certain arbitrary queuing network models. He is also keen on traffic modeling and characterization, queuing theory, and traffic control of wired and wireless telecommunication systems. His current research activities include mobile and wireless networking, ubiquitous and pervasive computing, and End-to-End Quality of Service provisioning in the heterogeneous networks environment.

Dr. Skianis has participated in numerous national (both in UK and Greece) and European Union (STREP, IP) funded research projects within the teams of work package leaders and technical project managers. His work has been published in journals, conference proceedings, and books, and has also been presented in numerous conferences and workshops. He acted as a technical program committee and an organizing committee member for numerous conferences and workshops. He is a member of several professional societies and an active reviewer for many scientific journals.
