George Pallis

George Pallis is a Marie Curie Fellow in the Computer Science Department at the University of Cyprus. He is a member of the High-Performance Computing Systems Laboratory (http://grid.ucy.ac.cy).

George’s research activities focus on Web technologies. In particular, he has worked in the areas of Web data caching, content distribution networks, information retrieval, and Web data clustering. George has published several papers in international journals and conferences. Recently, he has become more interested in the concepts of cloud computing, grid, and vehicular ad-hoc networks. He is co-editor of the book Web Data Management Practices: Emerging Techniques and Technologies, published by Idea Group Publishing, and co-guest editor of a special issue of IEEE Internet Computing on cloud computing (Sept./Oct. 2009).

George received his BSc and PhD degrees from the Department of Informatics at Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (Greece). More information about George and his work can be found at http://www.cs.ucy.ac.cy/~gpallis.
