This book reviews deep learning research and applications “for medical imaging and clinical informatics.” It specifically presents information about the implementation of deep learning and convolutional neural network (CNN) applications to medical imaging. It explores image segmentation, detection, localization applications, and data mining methods.

Each chapter is written by a different set of authors. The chapters are written in the form of academic articles. Thus, the chapters present methods and the application of methods to medical images, and compare results with existing methods.

This book can be a good source for scientists, researchers, engineers, or graduate students who have the required background in computer vision. They can use the book to expand their knowledge of medical imaging. The book was written using very up-to-date information. It will help to acquaint readers with the current literature in the field.
