Medical students perceive three areas of use for an iPad: education-centered use, such as organizing information; professional-centered use, such as meeting administrative requirements; and patient-centered use, such as patient education. The data for this paper was obtained through verbal reports from an entire class of residents being trained in pediatrics. The paper, actually an “interactive poster,” is intended as an early report of a multiyear data-driven study. The data obtained can be used to learn which apps students find helpful. The text is readable and the partition into the three uses seems fruitful.
