Resource management in ASMA platform
Bakour H., Boukhatem N. In Network control and engineering for Qos, security and mobility II. Norwell, MA,  Kluwer Academic Publishers,  2003. Type:Book Chapter
Date Reviewed: Apr 20 2004

The authors provide a brief description of their active service management architecture (ASMA) platform in this paper.

ASMA is reported to have valuable properties in partitioning resources between and among customers, thus preventing contention and monopolization of system elements. ASMA is based on virtual active network (VAN), which the authors define as “a service abstraction offered by a provider to its customers” (page 152).

ASMA is an experimental platform, but in several tests involving cache service scenarios, the results showed good resource allocation outcomes.
