Hierarchical generating method for large-scale multiobjective systems
Li D., Haimes Y. Journal of Optimization Theory and Applications54 (2):303-333,1987.Type:Article
Date Reviewed: May 1 1988

This paper builds on foundations laid by Geoffrion and Hogan [1], Olenik and Haimes [2], Nijkamp and Rietveld [3], Shimizu and Aiyoshi [4], and others. Using a hierarchical method, the authors investigate large-scale multiobjective systems. They show that the envelope approach is the most suitable for analysis of multiobjective optimization, especially for problems with multistage and/or multilevel structures. They develop a unified framework for the hierarchical generating method by integrating the envelope approach and the duality theory. The method derived here is a new contribution to the hierarchical multiobjective dynamical analysis of large-scale systems.
