October 1, 2004

Reviews.com is pleased to announce that Computing Reviews (CR) has been reviewed in the Charleston Advisor. The Charleston Advisor writes critical reviews of library web products and is the leading consumer report for information professionals. The review, written by Ellie Dworak, gave CR an overall ranking of four and a quarter of five possible stars and rated CR's searchability with a high five stars.

Ms. Dworak wrote in detail on Computing Reviews' content and interface. She found that CR's "reviews ... are a good length - short enough to be read in a few minutes, long enough to help a reader make an informed decision about the article or book in question." She also felt that the literature reviewed in CR accurately reflects "the materials that computer science departments actually request." In regards to CR's interface, Ms. Dworak found the home page to be "clean, intuitive, and visually attractive," and considered "the usability of the site ... excellent." She pointed out that "the alerting system, while full-featured, is easy to use and easy to manage, and adds a lot of value for busy scholars."
