This work deals with the web-based visualization of transportation network data, with a focus on accessibility maps. The complexity of such networks requires scalable and flexible solutions to address a number of critical tradeoffs involving performance.

The proposed approach aims to improve the performance of common geographic information systems (GIS) by decoupling the visualization geometry and the data items for interactive maps. In practice, it combines server-based analysis with interactive web-based map visualization. The experiments proposed demonstrate the effectiveness of this approach, which shows high performance in the context of different implementation variants.

Generally speaking, the paper is clear, well written, and structured. It allows a relatively easy understanding even for readers not very expert in the field. Personally, I enjoyed reading this interesting contribution.
