AngularJS is an open-source framework, maintained by Google and the community, intended for those who need to build web-based client-side applications. AngularJS is based on the model-view-controller (MVC) pattern, encouraging the decoupling of view and logic, making the source code more maintainable and easier to be tested. It helps in the creation of single-page applications containing Hypertext Markup Language (HTML), cascading style sheets (CSS), and JavaScript. AngularJS has become popular in the software industry.

In his book, Freeman introduces us to client-side model-view-controller style and AngularJS. He goes from basic to more advanced concepts and features of the framework. The book comprises three parts. Part 1 is dedicated to the basics. It goes from the installation of a web server to some introductory HTML and JavaScript code. In this part, the author illustrates the concepts while building up a realistic application. All pieces of code are well explained. In Part 2, the author goes into a more detailed explanation of AngularJS and its features, always developing an example project. In Part 3, he discusses web services and unit testing.

With simple and didactic language complemented by dozens of well-explained examples, this book is recommended to developers of all levels, becoming a reference on the topic.
