Musical form and algorithmic solutions

The application of algorithms in music composition is the topic of this interesting paper. It grows from the principles of modern compositional techniques to cover the general use of algorithms. It provides a study of algorithmic approaches to composition. However, it does not provide specific algorithms. It may be disappointing to the computer scientist looking for algorithms to implement for computer music. However, the paper provides musicians and composers insight into the world of algorithmic composition techniques, especially those relying on the constraints of musical form to lead to algorithmic form. In my opinion, this is a good survey paper for musicians.
