The authors of this paper seek to describe a new programming language for sensor networks, to facilitate the coding of tracking applications.

They begin by describing the need for a high-level communication protocol for sensor networks. However, the paper focuses more on providing brief overviews of the authors’ previous works. The new sensor network programming model is described, albeit briefly. The relevance of the discussion on the relationship of this model to earlier distributed programming models is rather tenuous, and could have been omitted. Nonetheless, this paper will be useful for new researchers who want to get a big picture overview of research on sensor network communication protocol development.
