R&D project selection
Liberatore M. Telematics and Informatics3 (4):289-300,1986.Type:Article
Date Reviewed: Apr 1 1988

This paper provides a brief overview of several approaches that may be used for corporate research and development project selection. The author advocates a quantified process called the analytic hierarchy process (AHP). Although it is difficult to tell from this brief paper, it is the author’s premise that the AHP approach handles inconsistencies in human judgments better than traditional scoring models. The author also thinks that the AHP model is well suited for use with expert support systems or spreadsheet style computer support software.
