Computing Reviews - Finalist in 2005 Codie Awards

New York, NY Thursday, January 13, 2005 - The Software & Information Industry Association (SIIA) announced the finalists of its 20th Annual Codie Awards today. Computing Reviews is a finalist in the Content category, and is competing for Best Online Science or Technology Service with four other finalists.

The Codie Awards were established in 1986 by SIIA, and since then have recognized the industry's most innovative and forward-thinking products and services. "The 20th annual Codie Awards continue the tradition of honoring the best of the software, content and education technology industries," said Ken Wasch, SIIA President. "When one considers the number of outstanding companies that competed this year, being named a Codie Awards finalist is a significant achievement." A panel of industry expert judges selected this year's finalists, and in April SIIA members can cast their votes for 30 days. The winners will then be determined from a combination of first round judge rankings and second round SIIA member votes, and will be announced in May.

Computing Reviews (CR) reviews the most essential books and articles across all areas of computer science. New reviews are published daily online, and Computing Reviews' powerful searching, browsing, and alerting tools allow readers to pinpoint the reviews most relevant to their work and research. In the fast-changing world of computing, CR helps its readers at universities and research institutions track the latest developments and discoveries. In addition, CR recently launched a new section called Hot Topics - a series of essays that focus on emergent areas of computer science, and are updated on a regular basis once they have been published. "After having completely redesigned Computing Reviews last year, we are now really pleased to be a Codie Awards finalist," states Bruce Antelman, President of Reviews.com. "I feel the work we have put into CR really shows, and it is exciting to be in such a strong group of finalists."
