Agustí Solanas

Agustí Solanas is a researcher at the CRISES Research Group and the UNESCO Chair in Data Privacy in the Department of Computer Science and Mathematics at the Rovira i Virgili University (URV) of Tarragona, Catalonia, Spain. He received his BS and MS degrees in computer engineering from URV in 2002 and 2004, respectively, the latter with honors. He received a Diploma of Advanced Studies (Master's) in Telematics Engineering from the Technical University of Catalonia (UPC) in 2006. In 2007, he received a PhD (with honors) in Telematics Engineering from UPC. His main fields of activity are privacy, security, clustering, and evolutionary computation. He has participated in several European-, Spanish- and Catalan-funded research projects.

He has authored over 70 publications, including two books on privacy and security. In addition, he has delivered several invited talks and has served as a chair, program committee member, and reviewer for several international conferences and journals. He has also served as principal investigator for several research projects.

He is a member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), the IEEE Spain Section Board, and the IEEE eGovernment STC Board. He is also a member of the Association for Computing Machinery (ACM).

In his free time, he enjoys reading, going to the theater, and cooking.
