Mike Minkoff
Argonne National Laboratory

Topics: Mathematics of Computing (G.1, G.4) & Algebraic Manipulation (I.1)

Mike Minkoff received his PhD in Computer Sciences from the University of Wisconsin. He has been on the faculty of Northern Illinois University and Harper College. In 1973, he joined Argonne National Laboratory, where he has been a computational scientist for over 30 years. He has also been a visiting lecturer in SIAM's VLP program and is presently an independent computational scientist consulting with the Argonne Chemistry Division.

Mike's interests are in mathematical software, numerical linear algebra and ordinary differential equations, and scientific computation. He is interested in quantum chemistry computational science techniques--particularly the use of interpolated moving least-squares methods for calculating potential energy surfaces and nonlinear wavefunction approaches for electronic structure simulation. He has authored over 50 papers and given over 150 presentations.
